I in my current role at King Edward VI High School for Girls I have focused on developing the quality of teaching and learning and I have introduced the following initiatives• Peer Observations-all teaching staff now undertake at least one peer observation per academic year • More rigorous assessment processes are now in place • I have produced extensive teaching and learning resources • I have introduced an ICT Committee and sub committees to continue to enhance effective use of ICT in the classroom •There is a concerted focus in lesson planning and observations on differentiation •A Widening Horizons Initiative for U4th/ L5th pupils has been developed • An Academic Handbook has been written for 6th Form students and Harvard Referencing has been introduced• Curriculum Reviews have been undertaken in relation to 6th form courses.

A KS4 review has been undertaken- the academic core has been maintained but a new language strategy has been introduced. A KS3 review has also been undertaken-and there is now more focus on developing the girls’ confidence• Over 40 internal CPD training courses have been delivered throughout 2013/2014.One of my particular strengths is setting up first class systems and structures to monitor and review academic performance.
I have responsibility for the design and development of the school website and introduced our new school blogging platform in 2011. I have recently created a new website focusing on innovative online courses from top universities and research institutions.
